Earthquake recorded in Northwest Pakistan

An earthquake measuring 6.2 magnitudes on the Richter scale struck several parts of northwest Pakistan such as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Punjab, Azad Kashmir and Islamabad on Sunday night.

The earthquake was felt in Dir, Malakand, Chitral, Attock, Mirpur, Kohat and Gilgit. It also jolted Islamabad, Lahore, Nankana Sahib, DI Khan, Jhelum and Sialkot.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located in Hindu Kush Region, the border areas of Afghanistan and Tajikistan. Some areas of Afghanistan, occupied Kashmir and India also felt the quake.
In a statement shortly after the earthquake, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said that no damage was reported anywhere in the province.
